Day1: Kathmandu to Surkhet

We will start our journey at morning from Kathmandu. It takes around 13/14 hour to reach Surkhet. You will travel along the Trisuli River and get to view the beautiful of mountains around on the way. We will have lunch at Malekhu which is famous for Fish dishes.  And continue our journey towards Surkhet where we will spend our night.

Day2: Surkhet to Kalikot

In the early morning after breakfast at hotel we will start our journey towards Kalikot . This is one the scenic drive of your journey where you will be travelling through sal forest with beautiful views. We will spend overnight at Kalikot.

Day3: Kalikot to Rara

Wake up early in the morning. Have breakfast and get ready for our destination “Rara Lake”. We will be travelling at the edge of Karnali River via villages and forest. And take lunch on the way. Upon reaching Rara Lake we check in at Hotel. Free and relax. We will have dinner at Hotel. And you can also enjoy campfire or camping at Rara.

Day4: Sightseeing of Rara Lake

After breakfast we will go for boating in Rara Lake. And take picture and see the color changing of Rara Lake. We will take short break for lunch and relax, and go to visit Rara national park where we can view wild animals and also do birdwatching. We will be back to our hotel and stay overnight at hotel.

Day5:  Rara to Kalikot

Wake up in the morning have breakfast and begin our returning journey. We will follow the same route and return to Kalikot and stay overnight there.

Day6: Kalikot – Surkhet

We will start our day early in the morning and follow the same route as reaching Rara. We will stay overnight at Surkhet

Day7: Surkhet to Kathmandu.

We will catch a bus to Kathmandu from Surkhet and end our trip in Kathmandu.

Rara Lake is the largest lake of Nepal surrounded by green hills; it is 10.8 sq. Km in area and 167 m deep. It is located near the Tibetan Border in the Jumla and Mugu district of western- northern part of Nepal. True to its name “Queen of lake” it can be seen in three different colors in a day. Best time to visit Rara lake is September, October or April and May. The Rara Lake also gives you a mirror effect, while boating in a Lake as you looks forward there are the hills and as you look downwards there are the same hills and your image as well. You can also enjoy horse riding in Rara lake. It lies in the midst of Rara National Park so that you can see the wild animals like: Musk Dear, Himalayan Black Bear, Snow Leopard, Red Panda, and Danfe(National bird of Nepal ). It’s a great oppurtinity to get to know the culture, religion, language of Jumla & Mugu district. Marsi Chamal of Jumla is the only paddy that is cultivated in the highest altitude of the world.
