Kalinchowk situated in Dolakha district is a gradually popular trekking destination in Nepal which is at a height of 3842m above sea level and 132km far from Kathmandu.Kalinchowk Bhagwati is the abode of Goddess Kali, Goddess Bhagwati is believed to fulfill the wishes of her devotees for that reason, many people come here to worship at Bhagwati temple. Kalinchowk is one of the best hill stations for snowfall in Nepal, Nov to Feb is the best time to enjoy snowfall and it is also a big pilgrimage site. From 2018 kalinchowk offers the cable car service for the visitors so that, you can enjoy the cable car ride in Kalinchowk to reach the top of the temple and enjoy the spectacular view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Shisha Pangma, Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal, Gauri Shankar himal. Winter season is best time to visit kalinchowk. It also one of the best trekking spot of Nepal you can enjoy the trekking from kuri bazar to Kalinchowk Bhagwati temple.
Day1: Drive from Kathmandu to Charikot to Kuri
Our vehicle will pick you up from your place after breakfast. Route from Kathmandu starts is through Bhaktapur—Dhulikhel—Mude—Charikot—Deurali Bhanjyang—Kalinchowk. We will start our journey from Kathmandu and enroute will visit Dolakha Bhimeshwor temple located in 4.5km away from Charikot. It is one of the oldest temple of Dolakha district. As per Hindu mythology Bhima one of the brothers of Pandav’s lived there for a year during there 12 years exile period and spoke Dolakhali Newari language. After religious visit we will spend our night in Charikot camping and enjoying delicious local food.
Day2: Kuri to Kalinchowk to Kuri to Kathmandu
Second day Wake up early have breakfast and get ready for kalinchowk. After reaching Kuri village we can either choose cable car or walk to reach kalinchowk Bhawani temple. From top you can enjoy the mesmerizing view of various snow filled mountains like Gauri Shankar Himal & Ganesh Himal, there is also a small helipad next to temple premises and also click snaps of the beautiful scenery around. After spending time in Bhawani temple we will have lunch in Kuri where we can see shops selling Churpi a traditional Cheese and travel back to Kathmandu via Charikot.
