The word ‘Chitwan’ means ‘Heart of the Jungle.’ Chitwan National Park is considered to be one of Asia’s best national parks for viewing wildlife, which is established in 1973.It is the first national park of Nepal which lies in the Southern Central Terai of Nepal, it formerly extended over the foothills, the property covers an area of 952.6 km², extends over four districts: Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Parsa and Makwanpur. The Chitwan National Park is a world heritage property and there are at least 68 mammal species found within including the Bengal tiger, leopards, Bengal foxes, striped hyenas, golden jackals, jungle cats, Asian palm civets, fishing cats, rhinos, elephants, guars, wild boars, species of deer, flying squirrels, antelopes, and the endangered hispid hare species. Approximately two-thirds of the globally threatened species of birds found in Nepal are found in Chitwan National Park. There have been as many as 543 different bird species recorded in the park and at least 113 fish species in the waters of Chitwan, along with mugger crocodiles. There are also monitor lizards, rock pythons, king cobras, and tortoises.
Chitwan national Park famous for Elephant back safari, it is almost synonymous of Chitwan national park. Jeep safari, through the open jeep you can catch glimpses of rare wild flora and fauna in their natural habitats, Gharial Crocodile Breeding Centre. Another thrilling experience for you in Sauraha will be bathing and swimming with Elephants in Rapti River. A cultural program performed by the Tharus will be another highlight of your visit to the Jungle Safari Lodge. The tharus in their colorful traditional costumes which is unique in their disparity. Ox Cart or Pony Ride is one of the best options to explore the tharu village in Sauraha, Chitwan.
Day1: Kathmandu to Chitwan
In the early morning our vehicle up you from the hotel or your place to drive to Chitwan. After 4-5 hour long drive we will reach Chitwan and transfer you to Hotel, Check in your room and refresh. Have lunch and will go to Tharu village tour where you will learn more about one of the ethnic Tharu peoples, their cultures and lifestyle and ethnic Tharu cultural dance or slide show presentation.
Day2: Chitwan
Have breakfast in early morning and get ready to canoe ride over Rapti River It is an opportunity for bird watching and seeing rare species of Crocodiles, will return by Jungle walking. You also can enjoy elephant bathing enroute. After enjoying jungle walk we will take lunch and after that we will continue our tour from Elephant back Safari which is excellent opportunity to see different kinds of wildlife, Deers, Rhinoceros, Wild boar, monkeys, leopard, bear, Royal Bengal Tiger and many more.
Day3: Half day in chitwan
Wake up have tea and go to Visit Elephant breading center and come back to hotel take lunch and get ready to drive back to Kathmandu.
